Hello,
I am a new member. I am 56 years of age. I am presently riding an 06 DR650. I returned to road riding this year after about 15 to 20 years away from riding.
In 2001 I bought a DR200 for a little off road riding. I have taken both the basic dirt bike snd advanced dirt bike courses. This year, given gas prices, I thought I should ride a bike to work. But because I felt the speed limits around my house on the way in would be a little high for the 200, I sold it and bought the 650.
I did not think I would ride that much when I bought the bike, but I ended up riding, at least to and from work nearly every day for the 3 1/2 months i had the bike before I put it away, reluctantly, for the winter.
I appreciated the riding more this year and I cannot wait until next season. I'll have to be satisfied with skiing this winter. I am probably going to take the Basic Riding Course next year.
I want to say Hi to everybody. I've been visiting this site since I discovered it a few weeks ago. Hope I haven't bored anybody with this long tale.
