I can remember seeing an over/under shifter way back in the '70s when we went to a bike show or something with my Dad.

Odd thing about them was that they were separate arms, not just a y-shaped lever. So if you moved one the other didn't move.

No idea why they're not common anymore.

Hmm I wonder why couldn't they just hook up an air shifter then when they need to shift down do it manually but when you want to shift up just click the little button (my dad has one on his dragbike so I was just wondering.....)

My CB360t has a shift lever from JC whitney. Bought it in 1980 or so, so don't look for it now. It has the regular round shaft sticking out and a flat, wrap around the top piece so you always have a toe under the lever.

I love it. I wouldn't mind one for my NH750.

Heck, if you're not the 'It must shine or I will die' type, and you had a welder, it wouldn't be all too hard at all to fab yourself one of these.

Hmm, not I've got to add that to my things-to-fab list.
