out growing a bike?

Thats the reason for big displacement. 600s don't have it, and it's far more fun for the long term to torque outta corners than to continuously dance on the gearbox.

Maybe I'm still in glee stage, but I don't mind changing gears all the time. It's a lot of fun!

It is fun, but so is powering outta corners riding a wave of torque. It's nice to have the option.

Well Dave my other half, used to ride an 1100 Virago, stage 1 tuned, We got up to 110mph out of her. But after 10yrs of riding Virago's we got bored, then changed to our current bike FZX 750, we derestricted her and she flys, 0 -90 in just a few seconds in second gear, Wah Hey Now that is some G force while sitting on back, good job the grabrail stops my arse from sliding off the end And we have had 130mph out of her with more to spare............Real Grin Power! I truely love our bike!
