Actually I did read what you asked, and I explained all the possibilities. If your clutch is in you should be free rolling, otherwise something is not disengaging somewhere.

Well.. you didn't say anything about being able to move with the clutch in, you just said that it shouldn't be moving (from force of the engine/drivetrain).

What he wanted to hear was 'Yes, with the clutch disengaged you should be able to freely roll the bike'.

Further on the topic...I did some tests and this is what happens. Got the bike going at about 15 mph and hit the kill swithch. Bike coasts to a stop with and without the clutch pulled while still in gear. Stopped at a stop sign, bike in gear with clutch pulled. Hit the kill switch and bike rolled freely. Everything seems normal there. pulled into garage and shut off the motor with the bike in first gear. Still rolls freely with clutch pulled. With the bike off, switched between first, nuetral, and second several times pulling the clutch in to shift of course. Now with the bike in gear and the motor off it will not roll with the clutch pulled. Also, when you hit the starter with the bike in first gear and the clutch pulled it wants to pull forward several inches like there is tension on the gears. Doesn't jump forward or anythng, just wants to roll a little like it's wound up. Any further thoughts now.

im no mechanic but if its jumping forward when you start it with the clutch pulled it would seem the clutch isnt full dissengaging the gears? ive started mine plenty of times in gear and havent had it move at all forward that i noticed at least.

my bike once the motor is off if i shift to neutral i cant shift back into 1st or 2nd, untill the motor is started. a safety feature i thought any newer bike has.

still sounds like a problem to me that needs fixxed....

Let me clarify something on the jumping forward. That is only if I try to push it forward with some force while it won't move. Normal starting in gear with the clutch pulled does not do it.

Update: took the bike by the Yamaha shop today to have him take a look at it. He looked for about five seconds and said something aint right and that he has never seen that before. Now I'm not very happy. The bike is not even through the breakin period yet. Have an appointment scheduled for Saturday morning. Says he is going to have to pull the pipes and open the transmission to take a look at it. Only good thing is that it is under warranty. Still, now I may be without a brand new bike for a while if he needs to order parts for it.

Problem fixed. One of the clutch plates was badly milled and was catching. Replaced under warranty at no cost.
