Population Control

#1 Unread post by CNF2002 »

Here's something to chew on.

With all this talk of resources and climate problems, lack of housing and a poor job market, and with millions of starving people worldwide, why not create a world population control system.

Sterilize all males at puberty (I'm picking on us guys because ours is generally reversible and less costly). It can be reversed after certain criteria have been met, such as:

1) Male is over 21.
2) Male has reached level of education as appropriate for family income, and has shown to have marketable skills (or has sufficient domestic skills and has bonded with a marketable female or male partner).
3) Male has bonded in a relationship (either with a female or male) or can show to be capable of being financially independent as well as supporting a child.
4) Permanent re-sterilization after second child is born.
5) Parenting test and classes have been passed satisfactorily.
6) Satisfactory psychological evaluation of the family unit (lets keep manic-depressed psychotics from having children and throwing them off bridges, shall we?).
7) Current level of income shown to be suitable for raising a child.
8) DNA testing of infants upon birth and a master database of DNA records for all adults (which would take care of itself in 1 generation) to instantly and accurately count the number of children a person has fathered (just in case mommy decides to get a little wild at the local bar).

What do you think of my policy?

I think you sound like a little Hitler. If you decide to live like that fine, but don't try to force me to.

Ahem...Hitler murdered people. My plan prevents an excess of people being brought into the world, many of whom are unwanted, unexpected, and end up poor and uneducated and/or starving. We don't have enough resources to feed everyone and keep them well stocked with oil, and there's only so much space on the planet.

Limiting childbirth seems like the most humane and efficient way of limiting our population, and thus making everyone happier. There's only one pie. There's only so many ways you can slice it. So I'd love to hear your idea!

I like the idea. I never wanted any kids...so it might be too easy for me to agree. Must admit, sounds like bad communism... (Yes, there is good communism in theory, but absolute power corrupts absolutely in "real life".)

I end up paying in the long run for the unwanted (welfare, etc) ..as well as the wanted, I guess. I have to pay school taxes. I kind of think it is rediculous to have children who are 14 and 15 years old allowed to give birth. But, a good many peole figure it's their right, it's against god to abort... I also think it is redculous for people with no means of support to have kids. I do not belive people have kids solely to get SSI, but I do think once on the program, there is a hole that is very hard to get out of.

Never work. Here in America, as soon as you talk about limiting soemthing, everyone will holler "it's my right" even if it is detrimental in the long run.

Instead of imposing crazy and hard to keep track of rules and systems - why not just spend the money on education which is sorely needed. Statistics support that those with more education and access to education don't have as many (i said as many, not none) unwanted pregnancies, or inability to care for the child.

That doesn't sound like hitler, but it's definetly a policy unfit for any nation based on freedom. That sounds like something China would come up with.

Well, maybe. But think about this. Everything you do is regulated by the government. You have to have a license (and take a test) to drive, you have to take a special test to ride a motorcycle. You need a permit to go fishing, or hunting. You need to be 21 to drink. 18 to buy cigarettes. You can't vote until you are 18. You can't drive until you are 16.

All these things a regulated. We have rules to ensure the happiness and safety of everyone. But the one thing that the government doesn't regulate whatsoever is the one thing that affects the most innocent of us all; unborn children. Children have no defense, no choice, no rights. They are subject to the whims of the mothers and fathers who create them, and who themselves are given no restriction on how many they can make (with exception of court-ordered wage garnishments). Seems inhuman to me.

It's something China has come up with... They're only allowed 2 children.

I've often said that the root of all problems on this planet stem from over-population. Hunger, poverty, disease, crime, environmental issues, all are related to too many people.

I think I seen a t-shirt somewhere that said the gene pool needs some cholorine.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

Hitler wanted a master race to control all the lesser peoples, to impose rules as to who could breed and when. You would have to have the same kind of powers to make your plan work. I think you haven't thought your plan out very well.
