Lost Title?

#1 Unread post by Aggroton »

I have a 64 Honda trail 90. I bought it with out a title from a marine. Is there anyway to get a new title for it?

Not sure if this is the same in PA, but here in CA, you would need a bill of sale from the registered owner, then fill out a "loss of title" form at the DMV. After they make sure the bike is clear and has no leans, they will issue a new title.

Yeah, a little close to home in MD it's the same procedure. But it's typical, and a little easier, to have the previous owner go thru the hassle before you get the bike. Ah well, live and learn. It's worth it if the bike was a good price

You may have to get a lean on it then, not exactly sure how to go about that. There's also the possibility it's dropped out of the system if it hasn't been registered for several years. If I were you, I'd grab all the info on the bike I had (including vin number) and make a trip to the DMV to ask some questions. Good luck getting it sorted out.
