Besides needle/seat leaking inside carb and leaving gas tap on prime, check to make sure that the gas petcock is not leaking in other positions when the engine is not running.

My Yamaha gas petcock started leaking all over the place and I had to replace it-many Yamaha's in that era had problems with leaking petcocks...thus the gas continues to flow when the engine is off filling up the crankcase and air housing.

I had the same thing happen to me - totally flooded the motor with gas. I did two quick oil changes - I mean two in one day! And then I rode the bike for a week and did another oil change the next weekend just to make sure I got all the gunk and gasoline out of where it shouldn't be. Note - I'm not a master mechanic... hopefully one of these other guys will tell you how to make sure you've got all that gas out of your motor. Oh - I just air dried my air filters and they worked fine afterwards.

i am having the simular problem with my 96 seca II ( oil and what not comming out through the breather hose, and into the air box). although i am more then sure that my problem is more significant then yours, but it gose to show that anything can be the problem.

this also is a follow up of my other post.....

i took apart the top end and found that that four screws on the cam bearing where no tightened at all...hence a ticking. then found out that both valves where broken and snaped off. one was jammed in the valve clearence, and the other was bouncing and pounding away at the cyclinder untill finally it busted a hole in the cyclinder. and thats how pressure pushed oil out....

FYI that is..... it can be many of things
... i just want to ride and then die
