polycarbonate face shields

Ok, if faceshields are made of polycarbonate and polycarbonate breaks down with exposure to sunlight, when should you replace them?

You'll replace them due to scratches and dings before replacing them due to UV deteriation.

:peep: my face shield looks like i ran it across the pavement. No one around here sells replacments either.
