That's the plan... I'm not in a rush to buy a new bike, that's why I'm going to keep the V-Star 650 for a bit.

Sometime in the second half of next year though, I probably will start looking for that M109R

Welcome Mike! I think if you've taken the Motorbike police class, and you ride everyday on the job, then the MSF will be cake....but the insurance discount is a definite plus!

I'm gonna be in Long Beach for the International Motorcycle Show this weekend....so....lets just pretend the signals on my undertail are DOT approved, whatdaya say?

Welcome to the forums Mike!

As a motorcycle officer, can you give me the official line on lane-sharing in California? When can you do it and when can't you? Is it true that the motorcyclist is always at fault if an accident occurs while he is lane-sharing?

Also, what is it that you ride when on-duty? When I was in CA, I think I saw BMWs for most MC cops. Do you get your own bike that you ride home and use everyday, or do you share with other officers?

Congrats on becoming a motor unit. They are often quite selective and hard to get into. I'm a dispatcher here in virginia waiting for my MSF date to roll around (still three months!) so that I can start to ride.
