OK SORRY, what I MEANT to say was that "would you wear my neon blue jacket INTO stores and stuff". I always wear full armor, and have never not worn full armor when riding. Its just that whenever I go into my school or shop, it feels really weird to lug my jacket + helmet + gloves around. I think from now on, I ll just wear my jacket.

+1 to everything everyone said so far.

and also I dont really care when people stare at me when Im actually on my motorcycle, I just feel really uncomfortable when my helmet is off and I am just walking around and everyone can see me.

I wear a full faced helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots all the time. For pants I just wear my jeans. Yea, I know it's not as safe, but it's a personal decision, I wouldn't recomend it to you. I just wear my jacket same as I would any jacket, and carry my helmet with me. I've got plenty of room in the top case of my LT to store it, but I usually carry it with me anyway, if for no other reason I can clean the visor off in the bathroom in most places. And as someone else said earlier, putting on a cold helmet sucks.

Wear it into any shop you wish. I've been wearing my plain black textile into stores for some time now and despite the strange looks prefer that to having to worry about somebody walking off with it. If I'm going into a museum or something I'll use the chain on my bike to lock everything to the sissy bar but anyplace else, meh. I'll wear the jacket into class, any store, work...you name it. I've found it helps if i keep my leather gloves in my back pocket when I'm in a store though as I leave my helmet locked to the bike most of the time and people get confused by the Mad Max look of all the pads in my jacket without another visual cue that I'm a rider. Be proud of the biker image. I know I swagger just a bit more in my leather boots and jacket than I do without them and not only to girls notice (and love it according to my last two girlfriends.) but most people will respect it too, not to mention giving you something to talk about should you run into another biker.

The reason people are staring at you is because they wonder if there is something wrong with you. Black and Blue jacket with a Black and Green helmet? Learn to color coordinate.Sheez

Just bustin your balls.
Folks look at you cause you are outside the norm. That being you ride a bike. Most people are inherently stupid, so when they see you in the gear they cant compute what they are seeing because it is "different" and you arent fitting into their preconceived notions or surroundings, and they cant figure out why. Or maybe they are jealous, and wishing they could be having all the fun you are. Or they are looking at the crazy guy, because who in their right mind would ride a motorcycle anyway. After all," do you know how dangerous it is to ride a motorcycle? I would never do that. I just dont feel safe on the highway unless Im driving my humoungos SUV" :frusty:

Dont worry about them. Start enjoying messing with their heads instead.

I dont give a damn what the name on the bike is..........Just ride it.

I lock my helmet on the bike, the jacket stays on. The rest of my stuff is jeans and workboots so it doesn't look out of the ordinary and is comfy too. Don't really get any looks, but really, who cares. Be happy with yourself, you're riding!
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?
