Canadian eh
Well I'm new to this corner of the forums so here's a little history on me.
I live in Campbell River, British Columbia and have been riding for over forty years. I enjoy Adventure Touring my dual purpose motorcycle and touring on my Harley. My first licensed bike on the road was a 200cc Triumph Cub in 1966 and my first Harley was a 1953 Hydroglide side shifter that I had on the road in 1967. I paid three hundred dollars for it. I'm not going to go into all the Harleys' I've owned as I would be at the computer for a long time. I've owned 11 Harleys', 12 if you want to count the 1999 Buell . My present Harley is a 2006 Dyna FXDBI Street Bob. In total I've owned twenty to thirty motorcycles many of them dirt, and dual purpose bikes. I can't remember the exact number but at one time I had five motorcycles in the garage. My ex-wife use get upset at the amount of time I spent working on my bikes. She's gone but I still have motorcycles. Usually I would put about 16,000 to 20,000 Km on my bikes per year but three years ago a drunk driver on the Island Highway crossed the centre line on a curve and hit me head on. My bike was destroyed and I was busted up pretty bad. Legs, back, pelvis, wrist and shoulder broken plus numerous soft tissue injuries. The guy was 3 times over the legal limit on the breathalyzer and ended up with 9 months in jail. The first season after the accident I rode less than a 1000 Km, the next season just over 4000 Km and this last season over 9000 Km. riding is a family thing as I have two grown sons that both ride and my Dad rode for over sixty years. His last Harley now belongs to a good friend of mine.
Enough of the rambling. I look forward reading and adding to the posts on this corner of the forums.

I consider Buell to be a part of the Harley family, so no worries and no default - you're here because you belong here. Welcome! And you have a nice looking ride, there. I've been a fan of the Ulysses ever since I first laid eyes on one.Captain Nartman wrote:I'm a BUELL OWNER!

Ah, jeez... I was trying to figure out what kind of shirt you're wearing (alpaca? camel? wombat?) when it finally dawned on me... you aren't wearing one.Captain Nartman wrote:p.s. get some Bloody BEER Related Emoticons... Hello all and thanks for the invite.
Well I am 60 years young, retired and looking forward to spending the next few traveling around the continent to the many places I have not yet seen. I am married and the wife enjoys sitting on the bank and taking in the scenery.
I have owned several Japanese bikes in my younger days and enjoyed then immensely, I rode in the dirt for a few years before getting my 1st street Bike and then mostly city and short day or weekend trips.
I did not get my 1st Harley until I was 40 years old and it was a 1987 Sportster out of the show room. I owned it for 2 years and but 76,000.00 Miles on it. (out of work)
I traded it in on a 1989 FLHS and rode it for 8 seasons and over 100,000 KM and enjoyed the bike very much as did the wife. I sold it in the fall of 1996, as I needed funds to start a business. Still miss it.
The next 2 years was very time consuming and I did not ride at all during 1997 & 1998, as the business demands were great. In 1999 the wife instructed me (she claims I was miserable) to go buy a new bike.
Out to the local dealer and purchased a 1999 Super glide as they were out of everything else. Rode it and enjoyed it until the spring of 2002 and traded it on and 2002 FLHT Standard, as she was not comfortable on the super glide.
In 2006 I traded it on my present bike the 2006 FLH Electric Glide Classic, which I enjoy, and put 24,000 KM. Before putting it away.
My love for the last 20 years is touring and I have made many friends along the way and hope to make many more.
Enough…already
Dennis
