The jacket will either fit right with the fleece and then be loose without it, or it will fit without the fleece and be too tight with it.

Get yourself a 'multi-season' jacket, either geared toward spring, summer, fall or fall, winter, spring. They'll both be different. The cool weather jacket will have zipper vents and probably a thermal/insulated liner. The warm weather one will likely have mesh or perforated panels and a rain liner.

If you live where the sun is HOT and you're likely to sit in traffic at all, remember that BLACK will roast you like a potato in the sun.

I always recommend that brand-newbies go with the best textile they can afford for the first set up... it costs less $$ in case you make a mistake in features, etc.

Sit on a bike wearing whatever you're considering (an amazing number of folks forget this part) - it should fit snugly, without binding at knees/elbows and the sleeves should cover your wrists with hands on handgrips.

Go leather.
It offers better protection, lasts a lot longer and looks a whole lot better.
I live in a very warm climate here in Sydney Australia and wearing all black leathers has never been too hot.

Remember also that textile jackets are made of multiple layers to increase abrasion resistance so the safer they are the thicker and hotter they are.
