There are some good philosophies to live by in this thread.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

I've been down twice. Without my gear I'd have been a lot worse hurt.

I wear full gear to work all the time - lid, leather, gloves, necktor, boots and bike jeans. You get used to the gear and in time it weighs nothing.

Right now I am at work. My jacket is on the back of my chair, my feet are up on my desk in my bike boots, next to my lid which contains my gloves and necktor.

In fact I tend to wear my leather even when I'm not out on the bike because it is my favorite item of clothing.

Get this if you make decisions that compromise your safety/riding ability then you are not ready to ride a bike and you should sell the bike NOW because otherwise you are asking to get hurt.

That said, girls dig bikes and the guys that ride them - so advertise.

"Yeah, I bought the coat when I was living in a much colder place."
"Oh, ok... so what clan are you?"

you should seriously consider a career in fiction/comedy writing. In fact, I might just have to go back and copy down all your posts and write a "Choose your own adventure" novel out of them!

Oh god, I remember those. I used to read them when I was a kid. Adventures in tibet, goosebumps, all of them.

Hmm... the adventures of Asdfgh (Pseudonym to hide Qwerty's real identity)

You are going down the road, minding your own business when a cager cuts you off, almost hitting you, then speeds right off a too tight corner. They are fine but the car is wrecked.

Flip a coin, if heads go to page 230 if tails 220

P#230
You chuckle to yourself and write about it in TMW as soon as you get home, subject line "Cager can't corner", "Guess what happened today?" or possibly "Karma is a Bi***"

P#220
You laugh your "o ring" off and plough into the back of a stopped car, karma is a bi***.
