(Especially since my dad showed me a site of a guy who crashed into something or another and wasn't wearing a helmet (he was riding a moped too) and well his head was WIPE open and the brains were all over the ground..) So thanks to you all for being so hostile to me.
I was wondering how it could happen... (look in thread)

I personally saw a person on a BICYCLE hit a stopped car and get critically injured, ER visit and prolonged recovery. The car was not moving and person on the bike was wearing a helmet. The bicycle was going about 10 miles an hour, it looked funny when it happened but when all was said and done, the woman was terribly injured. This just goes to show that you can get hurt fairly easily. Now imagine slamming into something going about 45 MPH, you may be okay, or you may croak. Just luck Bad or Good, but just luck I guess.

I finally decided to join TMW to point out that a blow to the front of your head is no where near as dangerous as a blow to the side. It has less do with your brain squishing inside of your head (it's actually designed to take a little bit of this), that the movement of your brain.
When you're hit from the side, your head spins, causing your brain to twist inside of your skull, almost ALWAYS resulting in some (perhaps temporary) damage. This is why you don't have to actually hit anything to get a cuncussion (a sharp twin could do it). You'll also notice this in boxing- it's why a punch to the side of the face can KO an otherwise strong boxer in 2 seconds.
EDIT: Ouch, I'm used to really busy forums, didn't think to check the dates. I hope a week old bump is ok here...

Haha no bud, she wasn't talking about me- she was talking about her old friend that had gotten the brain damage.... She says I look fugly (you should know what that means haha) because of my long hair, ALSO I always wear a helmet because a while back ago around X-Mas time I crashed on my pocketbike at about 35 mph and my helmet saved me big time....CentralOzzy wrote:Sorry Mate....but the fact that you have to ask this questionSlap-Bassist531 wrote:I wasn't really sure if it was possible, but if you're wearing full gear (leathers, boots, DOT or SNELL approved helmet, etc.) is it possible if u crash that you can get brain damage?has me very concerned for you, just in general.
