Dyin'? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin' it? Come on. You're welcome to it, ol' timer. Let me know you're up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-gun. I own guns and have been shooting since I was old enough to hold up a BB gun. I grew up hunting.
Sure it's the owner's responsibility to lock up guns but that's not a garauntee. Sometimes kids find a way. I've sneaked out my dad's guns before when I was a kid and he kept them locked up and unloaded.
Qwerty's daughter was able to get into her father's guns. I think more importantly than trying to lock them up is educating the kids about how to shoot and more importantly how to treat a gun. Take them hunting and let them see what a gun can do. I hate to think what would have happened if Qwerty's daughter would not have been able to gain access to her dad's gun or had not known how to use it, but she was able to get to them...just locking them up doesn't necessarily solve all your problems. I think if you own a gun and have kids, educating yourself is not the important thing. Educating your kids is.
Women are more of a target to predators. I guess maybe I tended to look like a thug in my younger days but strangers were more afraid of me that I was of them. I've never felt a great need to carry a gun.
A woman walking to her car alone after dark or something is a different story, but keep in mind If you draw a gun and are overpowered before you can get it out and fire it in the right direction, your chances of dying just skyrocketed. More folks are injured with their own weapon than they are from somebody elses.
My best buddy lives in a decent neighborhood in Dallas off Lower Greenville, but about a block away you can often hear dealers, pimps , hookers, crackheads, and the like thinning themselves out with guns, and back in the day, I practically lived down in Deep Ellum playing gigs and just hanging out down there and around north Oak Cliff... not the best of places to be after dark, but the times I ever came closest to ever needing a gun wasn't in the city. It was dealing with drunk rednecks in small towns....no offence to all you drunk rednecks out there....
This is just ridiculous...If fire extinguishers are so frickin' deadly, why don't you carry one of them around instead of a gun?...
If you want to carry, go get a conealed weapon permit. I ain't knockin' ya...just don't sit here and overstate the need for one. As I said before, my main concern is that if you are going to carry, you are mentally and emotionally stable...and they check for that before they hand out the permit so go ahead. I won't be jumping you anytime soon so I won't be in much danger if you carry. Hell, if anything else it'll probably help those of us who don't carry by making criminals think twice before attacking somebody because their intended victim might be carrying....see you all just made it easier for me not to carry.

Zagnut, I heard of a kid who rolled a tire, mounted on a rim, down a hill onto a busy roadway, causing an accident and killing somebody. And I'm sure somebody, somewhere has used a fire extinguisher to knock somebody in the head

Or a kid accidentally gotten a hold of household chemicals, power tools or matches...
...When was the last time a kid got a hold of a spare tire and killed himself or one of his friends with it?...When was the last time somebody accidentally killed his roomate with a fire extuinger because he thought his roomate was an intruder?...
At this point the thread could easily get into the "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" thing. And, I wholeheartedly agree with that.
If it comes to a life-threatening situation, I would use anything at my disposal to defend my family and myself. In that case, a fire extinguisher, spare tire, or anything else would suit me just fine. Heck, I would command my chihuahua to go for the jugular if I thought it would help.
I shoot multiple times a week but have yet to shoot at anyone. But, I will if I have to. I never had to use a fire extinguisher but would if I had to, even if it required using it across someone's face.
Unlike a household item, though, a firearm gives you at least three things:
knock down power when all else fails, distance (and therefore, time to react) and perhaps to make a strong case to the attacker that you mean business. Not always, but there is a good chance that an attacker will see me holding my 45 cal Glock and choose to leave. Again, not always, but you never know. Yes, I know, someone who enters your place and knows you're inside probably already wants to deal with you, but that only goes to show you do need to be prepared.
Training goes a looong way. If you feel comfortable using a gun, then mistakes are kept to a minimum.
As for carrying on a bike, think about a subcompact 9 mm of some kind. Don't underestimate a 9 mm as a defensive weapon (especially with hollow points), since the lower recoil s easier to control. Resist the temptation to use way too much power. I've never done it, but I assume that a holster that fits around the back of the waist, around the beltline would be the most comfortable while riding. Or, one on the anke, since a subcompact is relatively easy to store there. Just trying to keep the thread motorcycle related

You need to post a picture to make me believe this. Varsity football at 13 and a half where she breaks a bone a game with clean hits?qwerty wrote:. When she was 12 she was a cheerleader, complete with blonde. 18 months later, after 4 hours/day in the gym, she made the varsity football team as a 9th grader. Her goal was to average breaking one opponent's bone per game with clean hits. She missed by one game.
Edit: A picture where she's holding your tmw handle so we know you weren't downloading "chicks on steroids" pictures

Here's a few of the things he's claimed off of the top of my head:
- someone threw a beer bottle out of a moving car on the highway, he was behind them on his bike, he caught it in mid air and threw it back at them.
- he gave another motorist a flat tire by pulling up next to them (while they were moving) and stabbed it with a knife. (BTW, try puncturing a spare tire sometime with a knife...you'll know its not possible stationary, let alone while on a moving car)
- he has been in motorcycle movies
- he's killed at least 2 people
- now this equaly rediculous story about his daughter.
i'm sure there is more but that is just off the top of my head. I'd give you exact quotes from his posts but I dont have time, so go do a search on his name and have a laugh.
Oh and, brace yourselves for his violent nonsensical response when he reads this, as real liars cant handle being called out. He sure didnt like it last time. but unfortunately he had nothing to back up these ridiculous claims.

Well of course, but its fun to see where it goes. They make lies big in texas.
It's the kind of stuff you turn into chuck norris jokes because no one else, except maybe mr t, would be capable of it.
Guns don't kill people, chuck norris kills people
One day Mr t created fools. Realizing the magnitude of his folly, he then invented pity
