it hasnt really hitten me that hard thusfar this winter. But i havent ridden in over a month, and it snowed the last two days. Ive got the itch to get riding. Also im planning a bike trip and calling hotels and stuff. It is just getting me more and more excited. Damn i wanna go out and ride!

anyone else got the itch to ride? I wish I was on the west coast... Midwest is getting crappy weather now.

We've had crappy weather for quite awhile now here on the west coast, (BC).

The itch comes and goes everyday, I even got to scratch it on Christmas and New Years Day...

If I could have gotten up the icy/snowy hill out of my apartment's garage yesterday, I would have scratched that itch again...

Sounds like a personal problem to me!

Anyway, yeah, got it too, been out once in the last month, and that included riding over melting snow, quite an experience when it's 100 yards of melting snow, uphill, then downhill... I wish it would stop snowing here!

Umm YES! We haven't ridden since Nov. and we're in a downward spiral. I think we're going to try to sneak a ride on my sister's bike when we go visit the States next month.

Every weekday I see at least 20 bikes, and get to start at least one of them. I twitch every time I walk into the shop. Especially considering I just spent 18 hours at the Edmonton Bike Show this weekend.

temps finally dipped here in Chicago.
Snow on the ground and in the 20's for daytime highs....
Havent ridden in about a week and though i miss it, i am staying sane by looking for new accessories for my MC....getting stoked for the International Motorcycle show coming to Chicago ( early feb).
Will probably go to the Stealership what new or on sale items they have tomorrow and i've been looking and trying to get some $$ figures and instrutions on putting Ape hangers on my MC..so....so far...so good...but its only been 1 week!

Still got some MC winterization to do ( put the MC on blocks and fiull up the tank to the rim w/ gas.....so i'll be back to see my baby soon!

Get yourself a Yamaha TW200 to scratch that itch. Sure, it's a funny-looking little turd, but it handles snow, ice, and greasy wet roads with honors. As far as I know, a TW200 is the only bike ever ridden cross-country to the South Pole. When the weather clears, "summerize" it so it will be ready next year. I've ridden mine over 3,000 miles since the day before Thanksgiving.

I sold my 836 this afternoon. I've had that bike for over 30 years, but I'm older, fatter, and have no need for a 170+mph bike that hurts my back and has to have aviation or racing gas. I'll pick up another TW200 tomorrow ('05 model, 512 miles on it). I'll mod one for econo-commuting and the other for the Trans-American Trail. I have several bites on the Boss Hog, and when it goes I'll pick up a ZZR, FZ, ST, FJR, or some other Japanese sport-tourer, just haven't really developed mission objectives for the purchase or researched them all, yet.

Next winter I want to build a more powerful TW200-like bike, maybe a 350 to 450cc counterbalanced single. That's the plan, anyway. Any suggestions for a candidate engine?

"funny looking little turd" lol gave me a good laugh. and still is.
