Does your bike set off car alarms?

#1 Unread post by QuietMonkey »

Mine does, but none of my old bikes ever did, even when my big single had an exhaust leak (which I liked enough not to fix for a year or so :P) must be just the right rumble to it... usually once a day i'll trigger an alarm . I kinda like that too, since i hate hearing alarms triggering all the time in parknig lots and stuff, so riding by and leaving the blarring honks in the dust has a good feeling about it.

Probably the smile i enjoy also has to do with the annoyance of hearing the constant sqwak of peoples horns when they set them everytime they park there precious Honda Civic.

Mine won't... EVER. Even at full throttle in first, but I prefer quiet bikes anyway :P
I almost wish it were electric

Hell my vaccum sounding Vision sets the damned things off. Haven't found that out on teh vstrom yet. Though to be honest i don't think many people around me have alarms. I know because the straight pipes on my friends cruisers would definately set the things off.

Nothing yet, but the exhaust system is basically stock... gotta get a shorty on there :D Haha.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

The Virago with the V&H pipes sure did, I even went down side streets where I knew there were some, just to set them off on my way home from work...

Valk won't do it though, and I'm actually glad. I've had enough of the loud pipes. I figured out that the saying should go, "Loud pipes deafen bikers" or something along those lines.
