At the moment I'm reading:

Pickwick Papers ---- Charles Dickens

I've read it several times and although it was first written in 1836 I still find it funny.

I've recently finished:

Stalingrad --------- Antony Beevor
Blue at the Mizzen--- Patrick O'Brian

I just finished the latest book by Guy Gavriel Kay. It's titled, "Ysabel" and I'd hate to call it a sequel, more like a book that is centered around some of the characters and offspring of characters in another series. I picked it up the other day but only started reading it yesterday, couldn't put it down and now I'm looking for another book.

Kay is a Canadian author and I've read everything he's written and loved it all. He normally writes historical fiction but this book is different in that he takes the fiction and lays it over history as opposed to an alternate history. I don't know if you get my drift but...

Now at this point, I'm thinking that I've written all this once before. I just went back and checked all my posts and don't see it... Déjà Vu all over again...

Anyway, his books are as follows:

I have three floor to ceiling book shelves, and two half that size. Each is about 30" wide. Those shelves are stacked two deep and two high, I also have about 15 - 20 boxes of books in storage. I would love to have a house with a proper library to show off at least all of the hard cover ones...

Most recent books Ive read and would recommend have been

Secrets from the vinyl cafe - Stewart McLean (a host on CBC radio, very good stories.)

Haunted - Chuck Palahniuk ( I am going to get a few more of his books, I found this one impossible to put down)

Angels and Demons - Dan Brown another couldnt put downer.

I re-read alot of my books as well, read my copy of Steven Kings The long walk to shreds. as well as Trainspotting by Irvine Walsh.

Me too pete. Is why i usually go with the cheaper paperback route. I tend to absentmindedly dogear a page when i walk away. I do have a couple of heinlien books i bought from the library that im careful with. They have the old original check out cards with dad's and a few of my uncles names in em from the 60's and 70's.

Just found The dresden files.

First one seems decent in a pulp fictioney private eye novel kinda way.

I'm currently read (well a few books, but) a book my someone name Armistead Maupin, called Maybe The Moon. He was recommended to me for a book called Tales From the City, but I found this other book of his first.

It's a fictional story using a sort of diary dialogue, and revolves are essential human experience, living, fears, etc. with a fairly believeable and down to earth storyline which has a few unique aspects that lead to a very unique story. It's fiction but has many interesting observations which seem to be written by someone with a good elevel of experience in the topics covered. regarding a woman in hollywood area, an actress, and she's a midget (dwarf actually). Probably a book that is more interesting to women than men, if i was to classify it that simply: a girl book, but i read lots of different stuff, and enjoy these sorts of real-life storylines with twists, etc...

anyway, that's one book i've found to be interesting lately...
