I left in 2001. Route 1 wasn't finished yet. I think at the time it only went from Middletown to Dover. When I was living there an enormous amount of construction was going on everywhere. Altho they never seemed to finish anything. I should go back someday to see how it all turned out.
Getting back to Delaware and bikes you mite want to check out DE RT 9. I think you pick it up south of Wilmington. Funny thing about RT 9 is that since it runs along the Delaware river you would think its scenic. Its actually not, but does have some decent twistys in some spots. Also, it has a rest area about half way down with an outside pooper. Good for emergencies.
LOL I never thought I would reminise about Delaware.

Depends on how you define scenic. I do nature photography. For me, marshes / wetlands with waterfowl is scenic - I'll spend hours waiting for interesting birds to come along. Bombay Hook NWR is a major attraction. But in a conventional sense, no it's not scenic.MrGompers wrote:Do you think rt 9 is scenic?
I always liked that bridge around Delaware City. I think they replaced it with a better version. (2 lanes each direction)

I also like to do nature photography. Around here there are plenty of places to go to find some kind of nature.jstark47 wrote:Depends on how you define scenic. I do nature photography. I don't have my TV connected so I rarely see what is on television. However, last night I was at my sister's and saw a few minutes of a what I gather was a pseudo police show.-Holiday wrote:I like to go down and ride rt 9 on weekends, down to dover and back. Its a blast.
When I first saw your new avatar, I thought it was you. It's the dorky cop in the trooper uniform from that show. I don't even know the name of it.

If Bombay NWR is off of rt 9 I've been there. I actually thought that was pretty cool. I like how the road has marshes on both sides.jstark47 wrote:Depends on how you define scenic. So, you speak about Delaware without direct knowledge? Face it, Holiday, the only reason you bad-mouth Texas is because you are a jealous little wimp who tries to tear down others rather than lift yourself up. In fact, the only reason you bad-mouth anyone is because you are a jealous little wimp who tries to tear down others rather than lift yourself up. Loser.-Holiday wrote:hehqwerty wrote:Delaware isn't a bad state. The only bad thing about Delaware is Holiday is there.
no, i'm not. but thanks for thinking of me

wow!
do you even read the threads before you respond?
It's like you have this uncanny ability to just intuitively know what has been typed without even reading it.
I sure hope you transmit your personal level of attention to detail to those students of yours. We can only hope they can learn to admire your gift of reading comprehension, and in turn harness the power of it in their personal lives.
Well done sir, well done!
