Harley 883 r sportster

#1 Unread post by panzer88 »

I was just wondering if there is anyone out there with this bike. Everything i have read on it has been great and am looking forward to recieving it on thursday. As i said its an 883 cc the fine folks @ the Kamloops Harley shop have informed me that it has 70hp compared to the 65 of the much bigger stock harleys,As this is my first Harley i am so excited and thrilled to hop on this bad boy and take it on the highways,I know its a rubber mounted engine as they were not in the past which led to alot of mechanical problems as well as rider fatigue after periods of riding,But this has supposedly been solved i cant wait to find out, I am looking forward to talking with others in b.c and the rest of canada who also ride.Me and my wife are the only ones we know who ride and who are learning to ride,I hope my wife will enjoy it asmuch as i do.Well take care all and we'll talk soon

Don't know about the bike, but would love to ride around the 'loops sometime. It's a bit far away right now, but maybe not forever. Enjoy it!

Hey, I actually just rode my friend's Sportster 883 the other day, it's the 04, which is the first model year to have the rubber mounted motor. I sat on it and it felt fine, but when I rode the thing, it felt tiny to me! Granted, I'm 6'2" and almost 300 lbs... but still, it just looked and felt tiny to me! It is a great bike for her though, and I'm sure it will be for you too! Oh, and :happybikeday:

Yeah I am 6' and 155 lbs so i think it will be an ok bike tomorrow is the day that we get it i am pretty excited to be getting it the model that we got is exactly the same as in my avatar it has 70 hp which the harley shop has told me is more than the full size softtails. So iam hoping it will also be a good traveling bike aswell i'll keep ya posted and tell more of this specific model. Thanks for the Info!

I particularly like the road from Kamloops to Vernon via Falkland. (What's the lake...Monte Lake?). That is an outstanding ride.

Could be worse, a friend of mine has a Soft Tail on order. They told him it was ready for pick up and when he got there it was Black and not the Cobalt Blue he ordered. That moved  :frusty: his delivery date from the middle of Jan, to the end of Feb or middle of Mar. Now the plant that builds them is on strike...
