uhh yeah movies today are shot at 4000p (no tv available to the general public displays more than 1080p but there are some 2400p tvs coming out).VermilionX wrote:i DL'ed the trailer for ghost rider.
it looks really good on HD. and yes, i expected it to be an eye candy at the most. i don't really have high-expectations for comic and video game movies other than visuals and sound.
anyway... do movies in theaters come in HD format nowadays?
it's been a while since i've seen a movie in a theater.

those projectors in the movies must cost a ton money for it to be able to display 4000p.

Back when I worked in a theater which still used the older style platter to platter films (newer ones just use special DVDs) you were looking at a million or so per projector. And the damn things required weekly cleaning with a toothbrush to keep them free of dust. You can't even begin to imagine how many little nooks and crannies there are in there that need to be cleaned.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I believe the Imax is the only one that displays 4000p. The theatres last I checked are usually around 2400p.VermilionX wrote:4000p!!!ofblong wrote:
