your back hurts because the muscles are strained from holding you in a position they are not used to. build their strength up or risk serious back problems no matter what you ride.
Now how do I build strength there?

and to the other poster. I have had my bike for a couple of months but never have ridden for more than one hour until just a few days ago.

I'm going to quote this because he said, "sit ups and extensions" in there as the method to strengthen you back.

As for replacing bars, go to a shop and look around you can get a new set for anywhere from $30-100, then you just need to take the stuff off the old ones, drill holes in the same spots as the old ones, run some cables and install the new ones.

Rearsets... are usually really expensive, I've only ever looked for my bike, but the cheapest I've found is $300 Canadian.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

my bad, I read through all the posts quick and didn't realize what he said "fat or not situps and back extensions....lots of both... "

I road around for 4 hours and 93 miles, just keeping my back straight. It helped a ton, I didn't feel any lower back pains.

I'm good now, don't need anymore help. thanks for the sug. for buying a rearset and handle bar, but I think I fixed my problem and I am going to go buy some boots and bags to sit behind me.
