Maybe we should ask pacedawg.

Are you sure that is the promo? $18k, 199/month at 9.9%? That would work out to be like a 12 year loan and you'd be paying $12k in interest...pacedawg wrote:Just a quick question for everybody. . . would you finance an $18,000 bike if the deal was $199/month @ 9.9% for the life of the loan? Lets say you have no problem with the payments but don't have the cash right now to throw down a big down payment.
1 or 2 years, is probably about right... but even 1 year is way too long a wait to get my replacement bike. (yes, it has to be another brand new gixxer). i already waited for 3 years to get my 1st bike, needed a car 1st so got that one 1st.DieMonkeys wrote:I would never finance a bike. Or a car. People who put themselves in debt and pay a whole lot more for something they can wait a short period of time (maybe a year or two at most) is one of the most mentally challenged things I've heard of.
Stop being so impatient!
ahh, youth. i remember when i was that idealistic. i would (and have) financed cars, my expedition was purchased with help from the bank, and no, it's not something you can "save up for a year or two for"DieMonkeys wrote:I would never finance a bike. Or a car. Or anything other than a house.

Yes, but how many kids do you know that can handle taking out loan after loan and not screw up their life?Big B wrote:ahh, youth. i remember when i was that idealistic. i would (and have) financed cars, my expedition was purchased with help from the bank, and no, it's not something you can "save up for a year or two for"DieMonkeys wrote:I would never finance a bike. in a way, i've also "financed" my motorcycle, in that i took out a home equity loan, where i get to write off the interest on my taxes. a very non-mentally challenged way to be impatient i suppose
