Help! Looking for boots....

I'm looking for boots. I see all knids of different "protection" gimmicks, but I don't know what's gimmick and what's real.

So, I come to my trusty new friends for help.

Here's what I need / want:

- Protective as all hell! (I'm a newb, remember.)
- Cool enough for Phoenix summers. (It was 90 today!)
- Flexible / comfortable enough to walk in.
- Can go underneath pants. (The track is a looong way off.)
- Street variety. Preferrably shoe-style.
- Sexy for the ladies. (Of course it's important....lol)

Can I get some suggestions? Tips for what is truly protective? Ideas?

there's no boots like that.

you have to sacrifice some points to get more on the other points.

anyway... the best protection is offered by racing boots.

2. Finished quickly.
3. Inexpensive.
You only get to pick two.

Your dream-boots are the same deal. No boot on the market fits all your parameters.

For example, there are no "protective as all hell" boots that are "shoe-style" boots. You want "protective as all hell" then you need full-on track boots. You want "shoe-style" then they won't be as protective.

So, you're gonna need some compromises in there ... or start your own boot company and make them.

Must Haves:
Sturdy construction.
Over the ankle coverage.
Non-slip traction.

Nice additions:
Resoleable.
Added material at the toe and other areas that get the most rub wear
(from the shifter, scraping against the pegs/floorboards, etc)
Thin but reinforced toe area (think "steel toe" type construction without
the steel).
Oil/Chemical resistant.

I know I won't get all those things, but I'm looking for advice on what boot best comes in the middle.....! Or at the very least your guyses (sp?) two cents on what's more important of the list.

Important to me is protects my ankle well, has good soles and they have to be comfy. Goto your local red wing store and find a style you like...worth every penny.

Jadien, check out the Sidi line. They have some nice boots for a decent price. I didn't want to run too sportbikish boots, not did I want super cruiser boots, so I went with their Jasmine Tepor.

They make similar in guys styles too, that are like casual/cruiser boots. Check them out. SharpMagna wears some Sidis he's been ok with.

I recently got a pair of Converse Tactical Boots. Good protection and comfortable to walk in. As long as your pants are cut right they would look like a shoe.

The b/f and I got Oxtar. He has the black street style and I have the race boot. His are pretty low profile and comfrotable. We both have no problems walking around the house in them. They are vented but boots are boots, you feet will get warm.

Go for protection. Sex appeal to women will not keep you safe when you launch off of your bike showing off for them.

i had pretty much the same requirements except the shoe looking part. as was said, yuo just cant get the protection you need in a below the ankle shoe.

the setup boots will probably only make it halfway through this season though because they took quite a beating last year. they are also much more lightweight then the alpinestars and honestly probably not made as well.
