Thanks a bunch guys.So Melinda came home last night (to Airdrie) at 9 and parked, went to leave
for work at 9 this mornin and it wasn't there. AND there's no absence in the
snow to indicate it was very recent...more likely last night. ANYWAYS
It's silver, 4 door, license plate ENZ-356. 1986. There's a Roughnecks
sticker on the rear window on the driver's side. Cracked windshield, I mean
my friends are saying "who would steal your crappy car!?"
To make it just like a major kick in the nuts, I'm gone at school, 8.5 hours
north and there's not much else I can do and not much in the bank either.
I'm outta here in 10 days, but man oh man, this blows.
If you see or hear anything, please let us know, or call the authorities.
Like I said, they don't care much, it's just another $500 to them...
Thanks

Stolen Car: Calgary/Airdrie Area
Okay a friend of mine just had his car stolen last night... here's a quick copy of what was said. I'd appreciate if anyone in the area just kept an eye out for it. The car isn't so much a concern as the $500 worth of tools that were in the trunk.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

There's your answer right there. Its someone who knows and watches people around. They knew a tool set rode in there.

yep theres not much reasoning into stealing a 20 year old car (unless its expensive) except for some nice tools.Shorts wrote:Sev wrote:Okay a friend of mine just had his car stolen last night... here's a quick copy of what was said. Yeah, to be honest I don't really expect anything at all to come of this. But I figured since we have so many members in Calgary I would ask if you guys would just keep an eye open for it while you're out cruising around. It'd be a REALLY cool thing if it did turn up.
I fully expect it was just a joyride, but still it's a stolen car.
Thanks Soft-tail, I'll keep that in mind. I'm not really worried about it though. When did you take the apprenticeship exams? And how do you like working in the industry?

Hopefully this ends up better then my brothers car, someone stole his 91 Toyota Carolla, joy rode it, crashed it in the woods and set it on fire. heres the kicker, my brother had to pay the wreckers fee to get the "carcasss" as they called it, towed to the scrap yard (car was gutted, even the paint and tires burned off)

My buddy has his Toyota truck stolen and it was missing for weeks. Finally he got a phone call that they had found it: Someone had thrown cans of white paint across it (it was black) and put a rock on the gas peddle and sent it over an embankment. He managed to get it going when he found it, although the motor had been over-revved and severely damaged. On the way home he noticed a Police car following him and under a minute later he was boxed in by 4 police cars, jammed face down in to the asphault and placed in to cuffs. Only after the had roughed him up did they determine that they forgot to take his licence plate out of the computer from the stolen list!
