The bikes came today. This is one of those days when you are so excited that you post the same thing everywhere.
Class is in two and a half weeks. The bikes are just wonderful. It is hard to leave them in the shed. Never having ridden a motorcycle (but I do drive a manual) I got it across the driveway and up into the shed without to much trouble. That one act relaxed me so much that I'm not freaking out that I will be a moron and fail my class.
I've spent the evening taking off the decals. I have my own that i have designed that I plan to put on it. It looks much nicer without the red decals IMO.
What I find most interesting about these bikes is that they look much nicer and sleeker IRL then the photos.
I am very excited for class. I've read both profecent motorcycle books. I just picked up Leanings 1 and 2. I've been reading forums like a crazy thing. We're going to practice our friction zones this weekend in the driveway (very long driveway) as well as try to get our shifters and stuff adjusted for our mammoth feet.
Its hard not to run out the house to visit with them constantly.
That's not a gravel driveway you're going to practice on is it?
Gravel's not a good idea.
You sound like me. I read every bit of information I could get my hands on before I took the class. It paid off, and I'm still reading and learning.
Is the yellow Ninja your husbands? Did he get a yellow helmet?
I think yellow rocks and is super visible.
Your silver Ninja is no less cool. I saw the boots yor're getting on the other post. They should look great with that bike. What color jacket and helmet are you thinking about?
Because this is the Ladies Lounge, I feel free to talk about the joy of motorcycle fashion.
I'm 5'7 with a 33 inch inseam. I wear between a 14 and a 16 but I've taken to wearing men's jeans since its easier to pick up a 36/34. My oxtar's are a men's nine. It is funny. I laid back on the bike and I can actually lay quite comfortably on it. My torso is so short that the grab bar fits right under my neck. We're prob going to take some more pictures today because we're silly.
I'm decked out in blue and silver and black for the most part. Blue helmet, blue jacket.
He has a yellow helmet, and a yellow jacket and yellow gloves. We are pretty amused by our color cordination and wonder how many are going to call us posers. However who can deny the cute factor of a couple with matching bikes and cordinated gear? Right now we're still debating pants and trying them on. We did get knee armor.
I'm wearing mens jackets. With an xlarge I can get it around the chest. I can fit a large as well but my chest makes them to tight. I picked up a woman's xlarge from newenough and it fits but its a bit snug at the shoulders and bustline. I don't get how they make women's clothing with barely any bustline.
It's like the motorcycle companies mostly think we're going to ride on the back, grr.
