It's amazing how little information you get from the show. Maybe they'll show you a fancy-shaped carb, or say the word "fork seal". Not going into any depth about the technology seems to be the policy.

Maybe they think it heightens the mystery of being a bike builder if they incant magic words the viewers don't understand.

I am th a proud owner of a 2005 1200 C Sporty. I've ridden other bikes...yamaha and honda. Both were excellent bikes. I chose a Harley, because it is my preference and it is a joy to ride. Other have chosen other brnds because they are fun to ride. if everyone had the same bike, what a dull world this would be.

I consider myself to be a motorcycle enthusiast...I just love to ride.

CentralOzzy wrote:My question is....How do you get Discovery Channel to run with YOUR bike shop? - That's what made them famous.
Discovery channel went after them. They had originally pegged some other bike shop for the show but decided last minute to switch to a place where they fabbed stuff in the shop and found OCC. I guess the first guy ordered parts and built the bikes and they decided that was no good. Then the show was going to be cancelled until a higher up at Discovery seen it and liked the dysfunctional relationships involved. He said make the show more about the relationships and less about the bikes and it stays on. You know the rest.

How, pray tell, do I know this, and why would I want to, is what you are probably saying to yourself. I was reading a book on the phenomenon of OCC in the bookstore while my kids worked on destroying the play area.
