Well unfortunately I have no choice, I have to keep my bike outdoors during the riding season. I have purchased a cover, should be here by the weekend. But that is as far as I can go.
I do plan on getting some sort of shelter during the winter though.
Driveway or garage?

I was looking at disc locks, and the cover I have on the way has reinforced grommets so I can lock that too.mswarrior wrote:If you are keepinig it outside you should buy a good lock.
To be honest, I'm not all that worried about theft, there's at least two nice looking Harleys in the lot across the street. I'm pretty sure those will be lifted before anyone goes after mine.
You should be fine
I got a brother and a couple of friends that keep their bikes outside year round under a cover. As long as you get a good cover that breathes rust won't be an issue. Also check out the cycleshell and bikebarn. There expensive but it beats paying for self storage every month.
Re: You should be fine
I've just checked out both of these brands for storage and think that this may be better (and by better I mean cheaper yet still secure) way to go when compared to renting storage. I've based cheap by comparing $300-$400 for the cover to perpetually paying $50-$100 a month in storage rent FOREVER! I don't know which of these two brands would be better. The Cycleshell has a floor secured to the tarp, so I question adequate ventilation. The Bikebarn seems like it won't be able to secure too well to the ground or the bike (at last on one end of the bike) so is seems this brand could flap open from the bottom on very windy days (and it gets very windy in Oklahoma) but I'm just guessing from the pictures I've seen of each. Does anyone own either of these storage covers and have any personal opinion? I need to do more research on these brands but unless anyone else knows better I'll definetly be getting a storage unit like this. Any other suggestions?gumby191 wrote:I got a brother and a couple of friends that keep their bikes outside year round under a cover.
