I guess some will. I always dispised the yelling pop ups too. But I guess that the ads give money to run the site so I can't complain.

I don't mind any other kind of pop up except them. The only reason I hate the yelling ones is because I live in an apartment so the only way I can play music or games loud is if I wear my bose headphones so when I get the chorus of (high pitched) "You have just won a free I pod)" it hurts my ears. Now I just take my headphones before I come on to this site so its all good! But of course I am not trying to personally offend Mike, I am just telling why I just don't enjoy ecountering the yelling ones.

It's much easier to make posts complaining about the popups then to actually do something about them.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I've been a moderator here a long time and I can assure you that threads have to get pretty bad before they get deleted. Sometimes they get moved (if they are in the wrong spot to begin with), and often they get locked. I personally get 2-3 pop-ups per session that I immediately close. Is life that perfect that this is all you really have to complain about? Get over it. Mike makes his living outta providing this place for us to play and it is a very small price for us to pay.

If you don't like it. Look into a popup blocker
If you don't like it. LEAVE.

How's that reading comprehension working out for you?
ninja79 wrote:that was precisely my question: will popups disappear if I donate?
The amount of popups for all users across the site will decrease if you donate. You don't get special, ad-free treatment unless you can pay all of the bills for the site.

I've been on this site for some time and it took me awhile to figure out what ads you were talking about. I've never seen 'em. Now I feel kinda bad for denying the site revenue.
Get Firefox.

I get that audio ipod ad myself. I have to admit, it is kinda irritating. I hate all advertisement, but since I am still too cheap to pay to come here, I deal with it. And I understand it.

I read the thread that was being refered to, and I read where TM said he had removed all the audio ads. Well the ipod ad came on when I logged in to the site. So I dont know. I guess I can deal with he popups, but I really wish the audio ones would go away.
