Buying a bike overseas?

I've been thinking about trading up to the BMW R1200 RT (currently riding a 1400 Intruder) and figured if I was going I might as well check it out. Everything I've seen doesn't sound promising, though. I'll probably wait till I get back and just get it here.

If you're there for a bit and you find the right bike to ride while you're there, do it. It'll be a great trip overseas especially seeing the sights and countryside on bike.
