1/2 ton. Tundra, Silverado, Titan, Ram, and Sierra all have lower maximum towing capacity and payload than F150.

Specific enough?

10k miles? "poo poo", that means it'll be time to buy a new bike soon. My Ninja is at about 6k miles in the first year. Who only rides 2k? That's not even an oil change. And Moto, I'm sure it'll last well over 10k miles, and I'm sure it's been ridden harder than your M50. It'll probably last longer too as you seem to not care enough about it.

PS - Mistake 1, playing with half tons. Get an F-750 dump body if you want some real towing power without going semi. ;)

Yes, thanks. Otherwise I've had listed better trucks.

1/2s - no way I'll go back to one.

Said that right, Mistake 1. 1/2s can't cut it. Well, let me rephrase, they can't do better than some other trucks available.

Mr Jonnythan, The 6 foot bed is 6.5 foot and the FX4 adds heavier front coils and rear leaf springs and skid plates, updated wheels and interior and all FX4's come with the 5.4 330HP 24V V8, Yes the Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, and Nissan all have a more powerful engine, but its all about the gearing, the Chevy uses 3.42 rears thats great for better gas mileage, but lacks any serious towing and payload power. I own a F150 FX4 as a work truck and I haul coal, firewood, and scrap metal. When I was buying a new truck my first choice was the STX model but the dealer gave me a super deal on the FX4, with discounts and rebates the sticker price on my truck was $32,115 and I got it for $19,700. My last truck was a 03 F150 XL 4x4 with the V6 stick and I got $9200 on trade and the reason I traded in my 03 is because the ball joints kept failing cause I use and run a truck hard. The new F150 has a super heavy duty front suspension and I run it on dirt roads with giant potholes with a heavy load in the bed, no problems yet.

There are several options for gear ratios. Most Chevys come with 342s. 373s and 410s are available as well.

"All about gearing"? Then you really don't have the most powerful and the most payload.

That's alot of miles. Certainly more than what am-fm says it can go.

And I bet it's worth rebuilding, contrary to what am-fm says.

Actually, for the most part, Ford engines last just as long overall as GM engines do. There actually was a time when Ford engines were considered to be more durable, and it was said because Ford blocks had some nickel content in the blocks, meaning the blocks were made of a stronger alloy.

Both Ford and GM have been known for their good engines and their bad engines. I can name some of each.

I seriously doubt that anyone here can debate the durability of the much loved Ford 300 inline 6 that is in my '95 F150. Mine only has 96,000 miles, but I know of many that have easily surpassed 300,000 miles.

As far as tow and payload capacity, who really cares? How many of us here actually tow and/or carry loads at or near full capacity anyway? And I'm sure if anyone here does, it probably doesn't happen very often.

I'm sure that for almost everyone here, a 1/2 ton truck is plenty. I think it's more of an issue of the male ego at work. I know I certainly don't need to carry more weight than my F150 can carry. It's plenty for me. I guess that I don't have small dick syndrome that I need to try to compensate for...

Anyway, why are we talking trucks in a motorcycle forum to start with?
