I just got my first motorcycle!
Hello everyone! I just recently got a custom built motorcycle. I am new to motorcycles. This thing was built by my uncle and is not the best looking bike, but I do like riding it. I am still not very comfortable riding it, but I feel better about it every time I take it out. I am hoping to get better at riding and then getting something better.
Anyway, I am just excited about my new bike and was looking for a new community to share this great experience!
I would like to know what type of motorcycle did each of you start out with?
Mine is a custom bike similar to a Honda, my uncle built it with spare parts.

They teach the Basic Rider Course, which you definitely want to take. Essential learning. Everyone here will agree that it's a great idea.

The videos are OK, but go sign up for one of their classes.thomascarlson wrote:Thanks for the link. I am on dial up internet so I will have to download those videos and watch them. Are they free? They appear to be, but I didn't check.
It can (or will) save your life.

Re: I just got my first motorcycle!
There was no way I was going to start motorcycling with a motorcycle. I knew better.thomascarlson wrote:I would like to know what type of motorcycle did each of you start out with?
I started with an MSF training class.
After I graduated from the training course, I got a full-face helmet. Once I had one of those, I bought a leather armored 2-piece racing suit.
Shortly after finding the suit, I got some reinforced leather gloves and leather boots.
Finally, I got a Ninja 250 to go with it all.
