HD Frt Suspension

Yesterday I had new chrome "lowers" and "cowbells" installed on my 2005 Softail Deluxe. On the ride home I noticed an unfamiliar feeling in the handleing and then actual bottoming out of the frt end. Shouldn't the mechanic have noticed this on test ride? Im hoping this is an adjustment problem. Isn't there "specs" to reinstalling these lowers?? Im not a "biker", I just like to ride. Any help much appreciated. Thanks y'all

I'd take it back and have him look at it. Maybe he didn't put quite enough fluid in there, or missed a spring or something.

That being said... what's a "cowbell"?

Thanks I have spoken to the shop and am taking back as soon as storm lets up. A "cowbell" is the top slider of the frt suspension ( right above the lowers.

Oooh, cool. I had no idea, for some reason I was thinking of a biker bell. My I got one of those for my b-day a while back. It's a neat gift.

But I couldn't figure out why anyone would want more then one.

it's a little bell that you hang on your bike to ward off the road demons. they work best if they are given to you by a friend.

The story of THE BELL

"Have you ever noticed that small bell on some people's bike and wondered why it was there? It's more than just a decoration it has a specific function.
As we all know, life has many mysteries that have no apparent solutions. One of these is Evil Road Spirits. They are like little gremlins that live on your bike. The love to ride. They're also responsible for most of your bikes problems. Sometimes your turn signals refuse to work, or the battery goes dead, the clutch needs adjusting, or any of several hundred other things go wrong. These are problems caused by Evil Road Spirits.
Road spirits can't live in the presence of a bell. They are trapped in the hollow of the bell.
The constant ringing of the bell and the confined spaces drives them insane. They lose their grip and eventually fall to the roadway. (Have you ever wondered how potholes were formed?)
The bell has served it's purpose. If you bpicked up a bell on your own, the magic will work. But if the bell was given to you, the power has been doubled, and you know that somewhere you have a special friend helping to look after you.
So if you have a friend that doesn't have a bell, why not be the person to give them one? It's a nice feeling for the recipient to know that you cared. The bell, plus a good preventive maintenance program by the bikes owner, will help eliminate Evil Road Spirits."

At least that's what the card I got with my bell says. I don't believe that it actually works, but it means that someone cares, so I'll always have it on my bike.

That's the same card I got with my road bell. It was given to me by a lady I know, so it has double the power.

I think the "biker bell" he is refering to must be the Guardian Angel Bell, that friends buy for one another. Typically, they are tied to your frt forks.
