Welcome canadianbacon!
Great looking Katana 600 you purchased! How do you like it? The Katana is a great bike and has been around for a very long time in different forms. Total Motorcycle has a 2005 Katana 600 page:
http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2 ... Katana.htm with some specs you may find interesting.
Is this your first bike or..? I look forward to reading your posts and stories.
Have fun and don't forget we have a Calgary TMW Pub/Coffee Night! Please do come on out, meet some friendly members and have some fun!
Enjoy!
Mike.
Hi Mike... Thanks for the welcome!!

I really like the Katana so far.....a comfortable riding position and a great sound too! Thanks for the Katana specs link... lots of good info there.
This is not my first bike....but it is my first bike in 12 years.....
I started of with a '76 CanAM 250 back in the late 80's, and of course I got addicted to motorcycles right there and then. I sold the CanAM and picked up an '77 RD 400 ...wow!! a 6-speed 2-stroke with disc brakes all around ( I guess a seriuos sport bike of it's time)

.. then I picked up a KX 175 for some dirt riding and ultimately traded my 2-stroke sportster on a 81 Virago 750 (my first cruiser)....Over the summer I upgraded to a 82 750 Virago, then a 920 Virago, and then I picked up a 1986 100 Virago......only to trade it in on a 1987 FZ750 (my first bike with a full fairing). Well the FZ was a blast but hurt the wrists and back on long hauls soI traded again for a 1987 Virago 1100. Then I got married and had kids...and so a 12 year bikeless drought followed. But as all things go.....I walked into a bike dealership just to refresh my memories of the Virago, only to find out that they stopped making them in 99... no matter...I spotted that 2005 Katana and fell inlove...and rode off with it a day later.....

....thats my bike history.
Shucks, now I wont have anything to chat about on pub/coffee night....
Cheers...
Rob
