exhaust whistle?

ive herd about a whistle you put on your exhaust. supposedly they are VERY loud, can be herd a mile away usually. has anyone seen/herd these around before. i cant seem to find any for sale supprisingly on ebay. other than supposed joke whistles(that do the same thing i assume) not sure if this is what people have been using. i herd its becomming more and more popular in california. most places they are clearly illegal, but some seem to let you get away with them.

guess im just a bastrd but id love to ride around with a whistle ungodly loud just to annoy people

Yeah. That'd be cool. For, oh, maybe the first five minutes.

And then you figure that, if someone can hear it a mile away, and you're sitting right on top of it, how's that gonna make you feel?

I'm not trying to knock your own opinions on the matter, but..

I think this is stupid.

kind of sucks its something welded into the exhaust, i was hoping for a nice bolt on cap or something easy to put on/off.

the black supra in that video is just like my car lol

lol, my car is wicked loud as it is. my bro actually drove it one day and he couldnt figure out how to get my windows down so he was near deaf inside, i tried to call him on the phone but he couldnt hear anything lol. but i dont mind my car once the windows are down you dont notice as much, so the whistle wouldnt be all bad, most of the sound is direct out the back not up at you.

of course its not something id want on the bike at all times. something id want just to annoy people for a little while then take right off again.

I'm not opposed to a loud(er) exhaust. I actually rather like the sound and tambre of different sorts of engines.

Heck, even the sound of a NASCAR engine can be appealing, but I don't believe the place for that sort of things is on the street.

If the whistle is quiet enough to pass decible inspections, and it can still be heard a mile away? :/ Higher pitch noises travel further.. maybe we're going to have to set up a 'frequency decible' system, at which point decibles and frequency will both be monitered, with a gradiation allowing less volume for higher pitch.

I doubt it qualifies as a 'safety feature' on an automobile, like louder exhaust on a bike does..

And as for the two mechanics (who were shown blowing a stop sign and nearly being hit by the car who had the right of way)... I think it's pretty obvious to say that their opinions where neither informative, effective, nor worthy of consideration.

My car is fairly loud, esspecially at full throttle, and I hear that my car is incredibly loud, thats what I get with full lenght headers, 2 1/2" true dual mendral bent exhuast, and Dynomax UltraFlos (basically glorifed glasspacks).

even if that video is a hoax(i can see how someone might think it is), the idea seems very doable so it doesnt matter about the video.
