New rider saying hi...
I am new here, hi. I live in vancouver, but sometimes I stay in abbotsford. I am a new rider also...very excited about getting out, perhaps this fall, or definitely in the spring. What do you guys all ride? Why is there not a spot for "ride" in your profile???this should be added.

Welcome chad. If you go back into your profile and find the signature window, you can type what you ride into there. If your bike is on the internet somewhere, you can put the url between and the picture will show up. Try to keep the picture smallish.
I ride a Yamaha V-Star....a cruiser.
Dr-bar rides a valkyrie....an even bigger cruiser.
How about you?

hey-old-n-slow.....I went for a ride with the SCRC on Saturday. We went to Boston Bar for lunch and back.
Sigh......I am such a slow learner....
I thought that with our road captain having been made a first officer that it would have made a difference in the group thing.
He passed some cars and left us in the dust. Then a few got to pass and then one got to pass.......
Then while some of us were still "unpassed", he passed again....
Nice foramtion....
The chapter is being split up into 3 chapters because of how far away everyone is.
The guy who is going to be first officer fo my locale says he will do things properly. He also hinted at me being road captain.
We will see.......
At least the weather was nice.

I'm Back
Man-o-man! Look at how long this thread has been sitting idle. Guess it's high time I put in an appearance. Yes. I have been gone but I plan to be back on line more. Just been to busy to do much of anything. This is my first visit to the site in several months I think.
Had my first decent ride of the season on the old Yamaha the other day. What's with this crappy weather? Can't seem to get any heat out of the sun. And all the talk these days is of global warming. Yah right.
I can see I won't be riding as much as I would like this year as I am having major hip problems. Part of the joys of getting long in the tooth I suppose.
Happy Trails ya'all.

Well, old-n-slow...I guess there was no action all winter because the weather sucked. I only got in a few rides. I was jsut getting back into too when my little incident happened.
A couple of more weeks and I hope to be riding again.
Then I will have some stories to tell.
I know what you mean about aches and pains. You might have to switch to an automatic.

Ahh Blues. I envy you but only partly. It would be nice to do the trip across the continent but that's way too long for me. Enjoy yourself and if we ever get to eyeball over a cup of coffee or the like you can tell me all about it. The five day ride to Wetaskiwin was great last year and there looks like a possibility I may get to do Duffy Lake and similar this year. Do hope so.
I wish you a good trip. At least you didn't break your ankle like I did the time I went down. That really slows you up.
Ride in the wind while you can.

Garry, if you plan for enough time you could do it.old-n-slow wrote:Ahh Blues. I envy you but only partly. It would be nice to do the trip across the continent but that's way too long for me.
