I've gotten my 1977 RD restored... but I'm having problems registering it since part of the VIN on the label plate was rubbed off by the clutch cable. The title was misplaced years ago and is no longer available.
Does anyone know how I can find out what the VIN is so I can title it?
Any help/suggestions with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If the bike was always yours, or you had it titled last you should be able to go to the DMV and apply for a lost title. I got my BMW's title back that way in the state of Kansas.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

The bike has always been in the family...
The bike has always been in the family, but Oklahoma can't issue me a new title unless I have the full VIN. All their records are catalogged by VIN or Title Number, not by name.
I'm thinking I may be able to go to court and have a judge issue another title or VIN. Not sure if that's possible. Any thoughts?

On my bike I found three places that show the full vin. One is on a sticker where the forks pivot. Another is on the right side frame bar that runs down from the forks. And also it is stamped into the frame on the left where the forks pivot.
Also how about an old tag #, would that help. Registration paper, or insuranse papers.
