How to identify nuts and bolts on a Honda

#1 Unread post by Sicko »

I need to know the specs (Diameter and thread count) for a particular bolt on my Honda. This info isn't in the service manual so where do I look?

Thanks

If you have the bolt, take it/them to the hardware store and hopefully they have a little display that you can try them out on to see the correct size and pitch.

I don't know where to look as my manual does have a bolt listing.

Is it a one only bolt? Or do you have others like it either on the same case, or the opposite side of the bike, or something.

Alternately you can just go to www.bikebandit.com and buy the correct bolt. It should be in the parts schematic there.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Thanks. Great link, just added it to my bookmarks. It's a 6x20 flange bolt. 78 cents each.
