This post isn't even about bikes.

Living in the tiny country of Bahrain, it's getting me all worked up, dressed down, F**k off, who knows.

Could have bought a Ducati Multistrada 1000 DS, could still get almost any bike I'd like, GSX-R 750, Honda VFR, BMW Roadster 850.

I ain't gonna. It's partly the cost. Used doesn't happen much here.

But its really a safety issue. The roads here are dangerous. I see crashed out cars on the roadside every day. The drivers are aggressive and the enforcement is lax. Children stand on the front seat of cars on the highway. Safety, insha'Allah. Death, insha'allah.

Find out vicarously:

This post isn't even about biking. I'd really like people to have a read of the anything they can about Bahrain. Anyone been anywhere like it?

6 weeks, then back to London, and BC for a rest. Wish me luck.

I haven't been there, but my dad has been working in Saudi Arabia and has been to Bahrain a lot. He talks about the insane drivers on a regular basis. He's done with Saudi in a few weeks though then will be off to Kuwait. I dunno if that's any better or worse.

Funny, I never pictured a place like Bahrain as having blogging going on.

You'll be back in BC for the start of the potential good weather. :)

Oh. My. God. Yes.

Insane driving. I've been in the UAE (mostly Dubai, but also Abu Dhabi and Al Ain) for the past two weeks and I - a very adventurous person who is usually not afraid to do anything - would not even think of driving here. The people are absolutely crazy drivers.

It's 2am here, so that's all I have to say at the moment. Just a complete and total emphatic agreement.

It was like that in mexico, just freaking insane. It's supposed to be even worse in Mexico City because there you just have to pay a fee, sign a paper, then you have a license.

For your viewing pleasure a family of three on a bike. The most I've ever seen was four, mom says she's seen four on a bike plus a trash can.
I'm starting a petition to cull narrowminded dull people - be afraid Peter, be very afraid....

DH (Fly_Guy) has his BahhhhgggRane stories when they were out there. If it hadn't got knocked to Unacc., it would have been really tempting and extremely interesting to go out there for a year tour.
