Well, I'd rather see an article in that tone than one that goes on from his death to talk about all motorcycle deaths and end up down the line at motorcycles being bad.

It was a dumb move and he paid the ultimate price for it. It's too bad that his family is now without a son, and his friends without their buddy. Maybe it'll make someone else think before doing that in traffic like that.

I don't agree with stunting in public but I don't think it makes him satan either.

Well, I dont have much sympathy for the guy, he reaped what he'd sewn. you want to be on one wheel, buy a unicycle.

We are all going in the box.....we should all hope we get there doin something we love rather than sitting around typing what a schmo someone else is for getting to. Or you can hope for cancer.

Otherwise, when one of us passes away going too hot in a twisty or getting hit by a SUV while touring; we give non-riders the right to call us idiots. I don't believe that would be OK by any of us.

I can't believe that you'd make such a comparison. The guy lost control in an intersection going 80 on one wheel! You think that's the same as a rider touring and getting hit by an SUV?! Really???! It's only luck that kept him from hitting someone on the other side of the median.

We can call him an idiot because of his total lack of regard for the safety of others. And why should I have respect for his dead self - he certainly didn't show respect for anyone else that day. Totally selfish behavior, and yes, he got what was destined to happen with that sort of activity. Learn from it or not.

I really don't like to get into this debate, my feelings are probably already known. All I can say is that the end result speaks volumes..

It's easy to be look down upon someone you've never met. But he was a person too.

It's true. He was a person and he had a family and friends and I do feel bad about that, but Come on. You have to use your head when your out there. That's the kind of stuff you do on a dirt bike...not on the road. Dying while doing what you love shouldn't involve the risk of killing other people not involved in your "love".

That's why there's a thing called closed course. Find a track or some kind of legal event to pull this stuff off without endangering the safety of other road users.

It's a good thing he was the only one involved otherwise every other rider will pay the price of his and a few others stupidity.

Meanwhile, there's been a drop in squiddly behavior here in NYC... as if the sport bikers and cruisers are trying to behave themselves... I'll check back when I'm out 2 in the morning...

You are all correct he was being an idiot for stunting on a public road, but nobody, NOBODY deserves to die. And we certainly should not have the right to say he deserved wht he got.

I am not saying his actions should be compared with other riders, but I'm saying if we judge him, then we give non-riders the right to judge us when we go down in typical riding accident.
