And he had the audacity to ask why it would not wheelie once he was through riding without your permission? It's bad enough he rode the bike away without asking, but to ride it aggressively in attempt to wheelie... I really don't get angry very easily, but if someone tried that with me, that would spark an a$$ kicking right on spot.
Stupid squid.

You'll probably be more on your guard from now on. Which is a good thing.
My buddy Stan was selling his ZX-6 last month and a guy showed up on a Shadow 750 to have a look at it. Stan let him take it down the street, and the guy promptly crashed it. Turns out the guy had borrowed the Shadow he rode up on, and did not have a motorcycle license. So far, Stan's insurance company says he's going to have to eat the repairs (about $2K worth of plastic and metal). His insurance doesn't cover the bike if it's lent to an unlicensed rider.
Check for the license before you let anybody sit on your running bike.

None of the dealers around here allow test rides, so I think if I was selling a bike I'd adopt that same policy.flynrider wrote: My buddy Stan was selling his ZX-6 last month and a guy showed up on a Shadow 750 to have a look at it. Someone wants to test ride a bike I'm selling, they hand me 100% of the money, in cash, and I hand them the keys. The title's still in my possession.tortus wrote:None of the dealers around here allow test rides, so I think if I was selling a bike I'd adopt that same policy.flynrider wrote: My buddy Stan was selling his ZX-6 last month and a guy showed up on a Shadow 750 to have a look at it. - They like the bike, they come back and I sign over the title.
They don't like it, I trade them the money back for the bike & keys.
They drop the bike, I keep the money.... they just bought a bike.

Yeah.....whenever I sold any of my bikes, if the people wanted to see it run, I would let them watch me ride it up and down the road...thats about the closest they would get to it unless they handed the money over first. Hell....I almost had a guy drop my old ninja 250 when he was just sitting on it. If I wasn't right there to help him regain his balance, then the bike would have been on it's side, and I would have been pissed. I hate trieng to sell my stuff.....it seems like everybody wants something for nothing.
