For those with throttle rockers

If you use a throttle rocker, how long did it take you to get use to it?

I have mine set for highway speeds but it real gets in the way for city driving. I always ride city and highway. I have no choice of where I go because I live in a small town surrounded by highways and country roads. A ride around my town would take 10 min. then for the next town another 15/20 minutes on the highway.

I take it off for short trips and put it on for long trips.

I have a throttle rocker on my Rockster.

I took off the rubber band thing, to make it easier to swing around and out of the way in town.

The trade off is that it slowly moves while 'in use' on the highway, but it isn't a big deal for me.

I'm not using the rubber that comes with it, it holds OK on its own. Where ever I go, I'm in town for a max of 10 to 15 minutes then all highway till the next town. So in each small town, when I'm using the front brake, my wrist is almost at 90 degrees. Its such a odd position, that I feel a lack of control. Seems too easy to slip and be at 3/4 power in a fraction of a second.

I've only slipped a couple times with only 1/4 inch on the throttle so its a good thing I don't ride a sport bike. Then again with more HP I would not have to crank the throttle 2/3 or 3/4 of the way for 65 mph.

It took me about two good rides to figure out where I liked it. Finally got it in just the right spot that it doesn't feel like my hand is going to shoot off the handle bar when braking, and where it is actually in a position to cruise about 65 mph comfortably. I don't even notice it anymore and I leave it on all the time, even with my new lower handlebars.

Just gotta find that sweet spot, and then you will forget all about it.

I have the Throttle Boss on my bike and found it easy to accidentally catch it when moving my hand. Then I saw another rider with his reversed so it sticks out to the right of the grip.

I did this to mine and it made a world of difference.
