Sorry to hear about the wet. We had a decent day over here. That seems to often be the case, that you folks are wetter than us. Vancouver (traffic) in the sun is bad enough, Vancouver in the rain has to be the pits as far as MC riding goes.

putput, that's a great ride, isn't it? In Fort Langley, did you go to the coffee shop with the book store? It's quite good.

On Saturday I just went to Langley and back and made an effort to practice "smoooooth" upshifting. When I finally take a passenger, I don't want any helmet bonking.

Stinkin' rain and my boots aren't waterproof like they claim

#55 Unread post by blues2cruise »

My bike had a squeak that I knw should not be there so I took it to the dealer yesterday. I bussed back there this morning to pick it up safe in the knowledge that the weatherman never lies.
It hasn't stopped raining all day....this is what is called cloudy with an occasional shower....hardy, har, har.
Since I was out anyway, and just the short ride home in the rain would make the bike grimy, I decided to go for a short ride to Coquitlam and have coffee with a friend.
This is when I discovered that my so-called waterproof boots are indeed not waterproof. At least it's not cold today.
Then I went to a motorcycle shop looking for tank bag that can fit my tank. The one my friend told me about was gone. I will keep looking. One of these days I will find one that fits.

After I came home I washed and polished my bike so that it looks showroom new.
I think I'll take transit tomorrow and save my nice polish job for the weekend.

Weather

#57 Unread post by blues2cruise »

old-n-slow, it looks like your weather forecast for today was right. It was mostly a nice day here today.

I took advantage of it and "found" errands to do...not by the most direct route, though. :)

putput, I was at the Motor Vehicle Office today. If you are planning on taking your road test anytime soon, you better get your appointment booked. The examiners are really busy with road tests and it can take a couple of months to get an appointment. Sure was a lot of bikes down there yesterday. Come to think of it, there was a lot driving school cars, too.

Fingers crossed for dry weather on Sunday. I want to try to line up a ride.

Weather

:( I'm beginning to wonder if this weather is ever going to get better, I think we should rename it the Wet Coast!
I went out yesterday and bought new raingear, my old stuff just isn't keeping me dry anymore.
Is it just me or is this the worst Spring we've ever had??? :|

June is notoriously a bad month around here. Shouldn't plan anything that is dependent on good weather until after July 15.

If you have been watching the news, it seems that the prairies aren't fairing any better. Between the floods in southern Alberta and the farms in Manitoba/Saskatchewan having to hire special floatation type equipment to seed their crops, we may be looking at a rather bad year.

I picked up some new rain gear too. Best insurance you can get. Haven't had to use it yet. Ha Ha mind you the summer is only beginning.
