If you don't go over 750cc you don't pay to much, but when you buy that bigger bike your insurance skyrockets. The law is that you have to get the basic from ICBC, you can get the rest from whoever you like. When I lived in Alberta it was cheap to insue bikes and cars if you shop around, but not here.
