BTW, as far as the turning wheels thing, if your car rolls downhill with the wheel turned, it's only the front that will swing side to side before the car is stopped by the curb. Turning away when facing uphill and toward when facing downhill means your front end swings into the curb both times, keeping the car out of the middle of the road.
