San diego to Maine

Hi there!
I'm looking to make a one way trip by myself from San Diego to Maine.Does anyone have any tips... The trips in about 4 months from now so i'm taking any and all tips. Thanks.

i did Philly to San Diego last summer. You can read about it in my blog if you want, i think it starts on page 7 or so.

Just do as much planning before hand as possible, get a roadside assistance plan, and make as many COMFORT mods to your bike as possible before you go.

Oh and, take a bunch of pics and post about it afterwards :).

To Maine? Don't make it a one way :laughing:

Avoid 295 in Maine if at all possible, the road sucks, and half of it is still concrete slabs with numerous potholes, and is slick as "poo poo" when it's wet.
Also, if you come through MA, I'd personally recomend taking the MA Pike (I-90) out to I-495, and taking that all the way in to I-95. Rt-2 is okay in a pinch (runs paralell to I-90, just in the northern half of the state) but there's a lot of negativity it feels like on that road once you get west of Erving, which is about 30 minutes from I-91 on Rt-2.

Whereabouts in Maine are you heading?
