In order to amuse myself after my distressful news from the doctor, I created a another photo show. The pictures are pictures that I have posted in various blog entries, but adding the music and video effects and transitions makes it more fun.

At least this one has something to do with bikes....sort of.....

The news from the doctor is that I cannot travel. :x I seem to have developed a complication and it needs to be monitored. The doctor also says another month off work.

I guess I'll do some more photo work.

I am so sorry to hear about the complications and not being able to travel. That really sucks big time.

But I did happen to notice norsseman posting again so you will have a little competition.

But seriously, I really hope you heal up quick.

Thanks for the kudos on the videos. Playing around with my photos and learning the movie maker program keeps me occupied and sometimes frustrated trying to figure things out.

Ok, you start it....the cheesy joke thread.

If I am well enough in 2 weeks I will fly to the east coast and meet up with dr_bar. Fingers are crossed.

Donna

So sorry to hear your news. I can imagine just how disappointed you must be feeling about this after all that planning and anticipation.

Damn!

Yet who knows what the future will hold.

(BTW I enjoyed the utube vid, but couldn't access the picture show. Keep 'em coming.)

Wishing you all the very best

Richard

My Blue Star is home

#569 Unread post by blues2cruise »

Saturday June 2, 2007

My Blue Star came home today. I got tired of waiting for the shop to call and make an arrangement for delivery, so I emailed a friend and asked him if he would feel comfortable riding my bike home.

He was very happy to do it. He and his lady picked me up in their cage to go to the shop. I was glad he had come along to “inspect” the bike before taking it home. In hindsight, it’s also a good thing we went to get it instead of having it delivered.
The speedo cable bracket was hanging loose. It had not been re-installed. There were 2 gaping holes in the fender where the cable should have been bolted.

I got the service guy to come out…you could say he was slightly embarrassed….as he wheeled it away back inside.

He finally brought the bike back and he told me all I had to do was sign the paperwork and it was ready to go. I mentioned that I had to pay for an oil change and filter separately from the insurance claim.
Well, the fellow that I had been dealing with during the last few weeks “forgot” to get it done. Not only did I email the shop asking them to do it, but I also spoke to him in person about getting it done.
Sigh…..

I think I need to start going to a different shop. They are nice people, but as I have mentioned before, the lack of attention to detail is a problem.
The list is building.

At least now my bike is home and when I eventually feel good again, I can take it out on a moment’s notice.

I am still not well enough to ride…I would not be safe out there yet. The doctor has said I will be sent for “active rehab”…whatever that means…but the rep at ICBC knew…because she gave me the name of the place to call. They are going to pay for it.

It’s looking more and more like I won’t even be able to make the 2nd half of the trip. Sad for me…but I have to get better.

I am so glad that dr_bar still went as planned. I should be getting a postcard any day now. :D:

Hate that you still arent feeling well blues. Active rehab.....That sounds like the stuff where they stretch and crack and elongate you...all in preperation for compacting you back down and then playing you like an accordian. ;)

I know what you mean about bike shops.....Pain in the butt. Shop around. I'm sure there are plenty.

And don't fret. You'll be back on 2 wheels soon.

Get well soon blues :D
