2005 honda shadow "starting"

#1 Unread post by fayc »

2005 honda shadow, aprox. 5,000 miles.
just started happening. press the start button, nothing, again nothing, again starts.

sometimes it will start first try, but recently press start button nothing,no clicking, press again sometimes start sometimes won't.

the only other thinkg I notice for the past 3 day's temperature been up in the 90's with very high humidity.

any direction I would be grateful.
thanks
chris

Could be the starter button getting corroded or not making contact, or it could be the starter relay going bad. It also could be a short or open in the wire that goes to the starter button to the relay.

It could also be the starter motor itself going bad. I would check the wires and the relay first.

Check for loose wires.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
