I had an LS 650 which is built on a 250 frame, and I didn't like how cramped I was, got rid of the bike in a month cause it was almost painful to ride. get something that feels comfortable and not tiny under you. people talk about dealing with all the weight of a cruiser at first, but that weight disapears when you start going forward, and us big guy's can muscle a bike around much easier.
not cruiser related but a friend just got a katana (not the lightest bike in the world), he's probably 350lbs or so and 6'5" or so, fits on it just fine, and I saw him put the thing on the centerstand, which some people have all kinds of trouble doing, he just straddled the bike like normal, put the stand down with a one foot while picking the bike off the ground and on the stand with the other. its a different world to be bigger/stronger so some of the "you dont wanna deal with a 600lb bike" arguments out there are MUCH less applicable to a larger guy. I'd rather have a bike I have to muscle around than one that I didnt fit well on.
