In the front, or from behind?

#1 Unread post by Marilee »

I know when my hubby and I go out for a ride, I like to be in front, (on my bike, he on his) I feel somehow safer knowing he is behind me, however, I know he prefers to be in the front. We did the Cabot Trail a few weeks ago.. and I was second last in our grouping of bikes (5 bikes) with hubby taking up the rear. It was the most amazing ride...I felt so confident with him behind me. I live in an amazing place, I will even post a picture. But back to my topic.. Ladies which do you prefer front or behind, and Gentlemen, same question to you. Is it me, or does this question appear naughty?

Unfortunately, I am both the slower rider and the directionally challenged one so neither spot is a good place for me! :frusty:

Well, iding in front is nice that I can see ahead and concentrate on the road, and know DH is taking care of things behind me/us. However, when there is traffic in front of me, I find myself watching it instead of concentrating on the road like I need to. On the other hand, I don't like riding in front because I hate having to know where we are going!

I have never ridden by myself and never followed DH. I have run off on traffic though, that was kinda nice being 'alone'

I like to ride in front because it always seems like when I'm in back the BF is too concerned with keeping tabs on me in the mirror instead of on traffic. Makes me all sorts of nervous. In a larger group I like to hang back because I know I'm slower than most, being a very cautious newbie, this way nobody is stuck behind me.

hmm my wife rides on top errr oh wait what were we talking about????

lol seriously though my wife doesnt ride yet. Not until we can afford to buy me the Ducati I want (you know pay cash) then she can get her permit and take over riding my bike till she gets used to riding that. So this is a good ? and a thread I will follow for the answers/opinions of what others have to say.

I ride in front so I can set the pace. If dr_bar were to ride in front, he'd be there and halfway back by the time I got only halfway out. :)

Once in a while I ask him to take the lead because I just like to sit back and not make the decisions...dr-bar hates that....he doesn't like leading and being decisive isn't a strong suit.
